Monitor/Compliance Officer Office of Human Research (OHR) MHS
The Monitoring and Compliance Officer will report to the Chief Research Officer (CRO) in the Office of Human Research (OHR) of Memorial Healthcare System (MHS). This is a new office within MHS and will continue to expand and develop as the number of research studies at MHS continues to grow. This position will provide oversight and support of all clinical research protocols at MHS. The Monitor will coordinate and conduct audits and/or monitoring visits of research studies with a view to quality control and assurance to ensure system-wide compliance with all applicable regulations. Supervisory responsibilities may be defined and determined by the CRO.
Skills / Requirements
'BA/BS/RN required. Advanced degree a plus. Minimum of 3 + years experience as Clinical Research Monitor or at least 3+ years as a Clinical Research Coordinator or Clinical Research Nurse.
'Must have hands-on experience with all types of research studies (i.e. investigator-initiated, industry sponsored, government funded etc.), thorough understanding of clinical research regulations and clinical trial design and concepts.
'Working knowledge of standard quality assurance practices for human research is required.
'Must be highly skilled in MS Office applications; understand medical records/patient charts organization and terminology.
'Must be detailed oriented; excellent organizational and time management skills/ability in a very diverse setting.
'Ability to exercise discretion in working with highly confidential and sensitive matter and exercise mature judgment.
'Excellent verbal and written communications required.
'Excellent interpersonal skills, strong problem solving abilities, confident presence under pressure, and professional work habits are required.
'Ability to work effectively on a team.
