Ford Autonomous Vehicles LLC aspires to launch driverless transportation solutions that free people and businesses to achieve their fullest potential, earning trust one trip at a time. In conjunction with our partner, Argo AI, technical testing has begun in two of our eventual launch markets: Miami and Washington DC. At Ford, we have spent the past century earning the trust of our customers and we recognize trust is very important to people when it comes to self-driving cars since they are a new idea. We also know that each city is different, and that is why we are working closely with community members to ensure we can build out our self-driving business plan in a way that is safe and that provides the right solutions for Miami’s mobility challenges.  A core challenge is that every city has unique road user behavior, traffic management infrastructure and laws or regulations.
We are seeking a Business Development Specialist to join our new Miami team. In this role, you will build relationships with local institutions and identify paths to partner around a future that features self-driving vehicles moving people in Miami. We are looking for someone comfortable doing something that’s never been done before. We are looking to tell our story, build relationships and earn the trust of our future partners and customers. The role requires strong presentation skills, a “get it done” attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Business Development
    • Generate and develop sales and partnership opportunities with local organizations, institutions, corporations and other entities
    • Build trusted relationships with partners across a range of industries
    • Develop and execute account management strategy
    • Manage the growth and monetization of existing partners
    • Achieve positive outcomes and success metrics for each partnership
    • Lead partner discussions ensuring alignment of goals, timing and critical inputs
    • Analyze complex contracts with regard to legal and financial implications
    • Keep a competitive eye toward key performance indicators and goals of the business
  • Team Member
    • Exhibit a strong work ethic, a spirit of humility and lead by example
    • Work cross-functionally across the market and collaborate with HQ team
    • Demonstrate initiative and self-governance as a remote member of the team
    • Operate with a spirit of collaboration, voice relevant concerns, and communicate effectively with the team.
    • Become the local extension of the brand
Basic Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communications, or related fields
  • 2+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development or Account Management or related fields
  • 2+ years of experience communicating with external stake holders or partnership development
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree in Marketing, Communications, MBA  and then 5+ years in a related role
  • 5+ years of experience in consulting, account management, customer success, project management, or sales
  • Experience with sales management tools (Microsoft Dynamics, Sales Force)
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience working in start-up or technology environment
  • Candidate should be as fascinated as we are by the potential of autonomous vehicles to free people and businesses to achieve their highest potential
  • Candidate must be able to contribute to a positive, fun and supportive workplace!
  • A foundational knowledge of mobility issues, the challenges facing today’s Cities, as well as an understanding of politics, public policy and government processes
  • Comfort interacting with a range of levels (executives to on-the-ground employees)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and track record of building collaborative relationships
  • Superior presentation skills, both in person and written correspondence
  • Excellent project leadership skills to drive topics with multiple stakeholders/interest
  • Ability to think and act independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • A forward-looking vision, able to anticipate and plan for emerging technologies in the AV sector
  • Proficient in the ability to plan, organize & drive results in an unstructured environment
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing product and respond strategically to customer needs
  • Candidate should be disciplined, self-driven and determined to provide high quality outputs
