Under the direction of the Imaging Leadership, the Imaging Specialist performs reception and clerical functions and must exhibit excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette skills. The Imaging Specialist is responsible for the timely answering of all incoming phone calls and resolving inquiries. Works well with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation. Some of responsibilities include but limited to: check patients in, greets them in a friendly manner, has full knowledge of radiology and hospital information system, schedules add on diagnostic cases in IDX, order and arrive Diagnostic Imaging procedures within hospital information systems as per departmental guidelines, is responsible for full working knowledge and utilization of the PACS cube and digitizing functions, process patient requests for medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards and organizational policy, has the ability to assist referring physicians when the Radiologists Practice Coordinator is not available, does logging in IDX, prepare records for future needs and must be able to prioritize and handle patient's concerns and contact the concerning modality to determine the best course of action Must communicate any issues or concerns to manager.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Office experience/Training preferred.
