Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. CPR certification required. One year of prior experience as a Monitor Technician is preferred. Successful completion of didactic and clinical base EKG examinations. Score of 90% or better on rhythm test. Bilingual- English/Spanish preferred.

Minimum Requirements:

CPR Certification. High school graduate or equivalent. 1 year as monitor technician experience preferred.


  • Monitors the heart rhythm patterns of patients to detect abnormal pattern variations.
  • Reviews patients' records to determine normal heart rhythms.
  • Monitors current patterns and note any deviations; uses instruments to measure the length and height of a patient's heart rhythm pattern on graphic tape readouts.
  • Observes the cardiac monitor screen and listens for an alarm to identify any abnormal heart rhythm variation. Notifies nurses and doctors when medical attention is needed.
