Job Description
The District is seeking a highly skilled IT professional to work with other members of the IT team and customers to create and distribute new applications, upgrades and updates packages within the Enterprise. Consisting of over 500 freeware and licensed desktop applications which consists of the Microsoft Office 365 suite, other Microsoft and third-party applications. Within a Windows 10 and Windows 7 physical PC and Virtual Desktop Microsoft SCCM managed and Citrix environment.
 
This candidate must possess strong customer service, teamwork and effective communication skills (both verbal and written).  Candidate should have strong application packaging and scripting experience working with PowerShell and XML to create silent, unattended installations. Experience with SCCM (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager), SCUP (Systems Center Updates Publisher) and the SCCM Software Center is preferred.
 
Ability to effectively troubleshoot application packages and scripts, review installation logs to identify and independently resolve errors.
 
Job Responsibilities:
Candidate will work closely with the Desktop Administrator, other members of the Desktop Team, Asset Management, IT Security, Network and Systems Administrators on a regular daily basis.
 
Candidate will follow internal processes to identify, download and package Microsoft and third-party applications and updates. Ability to create silent unattended installations for both freeware and licensed applications.
 
Creating and supporting applications for Windows 10 Virtual Desktops within a Citrix published environment, VMWare or Nutanix experience is also a plus.
 
Candidate must have strong technical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to review installation and other error logs to effectively resolve application installation failures.
 
The application packages and scripts will be thoroughly tested to ensure they are error free and that no user intervention is needed during installation. Following internal versioning processes and IT change control procedures. Using PowerShell scripts, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (SCCM), will also be made available to authorized users through the SCCM Software Center supporting a self-service model for approved applications. Some third-party application updates may be installed using the System Center Updates Publisher (SCUP) during our regular scheduled desktop patching cycles.
 
Practitioner position is in the Technical Support Job Family that participates in the delivery of IT services and solutions to support the District's strategic programs. Incumbent demonstrates a solid knowledge of PC hardware/software packages, operating systems and network connectivity operations as well as customer service and problem-solving effectiveness to complete assignments in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
 
Incumbent may serve on Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERT) as required. Incumbent receives moderate supervision that includes instructions on specific assignment objectives and complex features.

IT Administrator - Senior: Typically has a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 8+ years of experience that demonstrates measurable career and technical progression that can be applied to support both the IT Department's Annual Work Plan and the District's strategic goals and objectives. Disciplines for IT education and experience requirements include but are not limited to: Computer Science, Computer/Systems Technology, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, and Systems Engineering.
 
IT Administrator - Specialist: Typically has a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience that demonstrates measurable career and technical progression that can be applied to support both the IT Department's Annual Work Plan and the District's strategic goals and objectives. Disciplines for IT education and experience requirements include but are not limited to: Computer Science, Computer/Systems Technology, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, and Systems Engineering.

Licenses
Valid State of Florida Driver’s License required.
 
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Due to the District’s response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.
